“State of the art” NLP Wiki

As a starting NLP/CL researcher, I find it really hard to wade through the fragmented community’s research efforts, software and evaluation methods. I am sure, eventually I will settle down into my specific area and will know most of the important works, however I want to have a better view of the general field now. I prefer not to spend forever thinking one way to just find out that, with better preliminary understanding, I could have achieved better results using other methods. Reading new papers is an answer, but given the automatic prerequisite reading backlog for a new researcher, not a fully practical one.

Hence, I am really glad that <a href="http://aclweb.org/aclwiki/index.php?title=State_Of_The_Art” title="“State of the Art” Wiki for NLP/CL">"State of the Art” Wiki has been started by Yoav Goldberg (via Hal’s blog entry). From the discussion on the Hal’s blog, it looks like people are already impacted by it.
